Angela is no stranger to the stage and has had a vibrant working life in the Theaters and on stages around the world. Having taken time out to be present for her two young children Angela returns to the stage Autumn 2022 making her débût as Hanna Glawari in Léhars' Die lustige Witwe for Operettenbühne Hombrechtikon near Zürich, Switzerland. Ursula Lysser, director and Caspar Dechmann, conductor.
From March 2023 Angela will make another débût as Rosalinde in Strauss' Die Fledermaus for Operettenbühne Bremgarten near Zürich, Switzerland. Volker Vögel, director and ..... conductor.


Angela Kerrison was born and raised in Gaborone, Botswana. She later went on to study at the University of Cape Town's Music College, graduating with a Diploma in Opera Performance. Sarita Stern was her vocal teacher. Angelo Gobbato and Aviva Pelham taught stage technique. After graduating Angela became part of Cape Town Opera's Studio for young artists. Later she was contracted as a soloist at Cape Town Opera. Some of the roles performed after graduation include, Gretel in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel 2003, Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas 2002, Adele in Strauss' Die Fledermaus 2004, Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata 2005.


After a successful competition in Verona, Italy where she performed the role of Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni 2006. Angela set her sights on Europe. She successfully auditioned for the International Opera Studio at the Zürich Opera House, Switzerland. As a member of the ensemble Angela had numerous opportunities to perform on the Zürich Opera stage. Gräfin Ceprano in Verdi's Rigoletto is one available on DVD. 


The summer of 2008 Angela spent in the Young Singers Project of the Salzburger Summer Festival. the following year she was engaged to understudy the role of Theodora in Händel's Theodora directed by Christof Loy, conducted by Ivor Bolton.


As a temporary member at the Heidelberg State Theater, Angela appeared as Ilia in Mozarts' Idomeneo, Servilia in Mozarts' La clemenza di Tito, and as Servilia in Vivaldi's Tito Manilio. For her role in the Vivaldi opera she was nominated for the Faust Theaterpreis 2009.
Maintaining contact with Cape Town Opera Angela went on tour as Julie in Hammersteins' Showboat. Performing in Paris at the Théàtre dû Chàtelet 2010, and later Birmingham Theater, Wales Millennium Center and Bord Gas Energy Theater, Dublin in 2014. 


For the past 3 years Angela has been rebuilding her vocal technique with the help and guidance of the wonderful soprano Sarah-Jane Brandon, currently singing at the Bremen State Opera, Germany.
